Configuring Your System and Network
82
Using Performance Monitor
NAS 8000 Performance Monitor lets you view performance of your HBAs, CPUs,
and total NFS activity from one location in your user interface.
■
With monitoring enabled, Performance Monitor gathers real-time data about
the enabled item and display it in chart format with updates every 5 seconds.
By enabling any metric, there is a small increase in the processor usage once
every 5 seconds.
■
With historical data enabled, Performance Monitor keeps and displays the
data up to 24 hours of it at a time in a chart. Historical data can only be
enabled in a category if monitoring is enabled. By enabling history for a
metric, there is a small amount of disk space used on the system disk (4 to 8
MB).
■
Performance Monitor allows you to have several charts open and viewable at
the same time.
Note:
Because Performance Monitor runs in a separate window, you can keep it open
for use while you perform other activities in Command View NAS.
