Importing and Exporting Group Quotas
You can import quotas from a file onto the NAS server or export the quotas on the
NAS server to a file. You can also export a group list from the server to a file.
1. In Command View NAS, click the Storage tab.
2. Under File Volumes, select Quotas.
3. In the table that appears in the main window, select an enabled file volume,
then click on Group Quotas - Default.
4. Select Actions, and one of the following options:
— Import Group Quotas: Import group quotas into the system from an
external file (an exported file or a text version of an Excel spreadsheet in
the proper format, using the correct syntax). The file is read in, and quotas
are applied, for every group in that file. This allows you to apply quotas
for all groups at once, instead of changing each individually.
— Export Group Quotas: Exports all group quotas to a file. This file
contains a line for every group in the system as well as their particular
quotas. (The numbers in the line with “root” indicates the default values.
“-1” means the group quota is default.) Since all group list files and quota
files are in text form, you can easily use the file to perform editing.
— Export Group List: Exports a file that contains a list of groups known to
the system every group with default settings AND every group with
specific settings. This file may be useful as a starting point for creating an
import group quota file.
5. A browser window opens to allow you to navigate to the source or target
directory, and to specify a file name.
6. Enter the appropriate location information, then click OK.
