Identifying your NAS Server
The first time you access Command View NAS, the Configuration Wizard appears
to guide you through configuration. Subsequent times when you access Command
View NAS, an Identity page appears and displays the following general system
information:
■
Cluster Name* — Name of your cluster on your network. High availability
configurations only.
■
System Name* — The system or hostname for your NAS 8000.
■
Sibling Node* — The secondary node (server) in your cluster if you have a
high-availability NAS server. High availability configurations only.
■
Description — NAS 8000.
■
Manufacturer — Hewlett-Packard Company.
■
Product Number — The product number corresponds to the HP-UX system
name and model.
■
Location* — The physical location of the NAS 8000.
■
Contact Name* — The person to be notified in case of trouble or questions
about the HP NAS 8000 (usually the system administrator).
■
Contact Phone Number* — Phone number of the contact name.
■
System s/n — The unit’s factory-set serial number.
■
HBA World Wide Name (WWN) — Unique ID number of the host bus
adaptors in the NAS Server (Dedicated Storage only)
■
IP Address* — The IP network address of the Network Interface Card (NIC)
in port 1 (although the NAS 8000 supports multiple ports, only the first one is
displayed).
■
MAC Address — The unique Machine Address Code for the first NIC port.
■
OS Version — Current version of the operating system running on the NAS
8000.
■
Array Alias/ID+ — Name you gave the array and the array serial number (if
you have a SAN configuration, this does not display).
■
Worldwide ID (SAN only) — Associated ID with the host bus adapter.
■
Up Time — Cumulative up-time of the NAS 8000 since the last restart.
*You can change these items from the Configuration tab.
