Requirements Feature
The MP Router is supported with the B-series switches listed in “ B-series switches and
fabric rules ” on page 93. The MP Router is not supported for use as a Fibre Channel
switch. Direct device connectivity to MP Router ports (F_Ports) is supported only with
iSCSI (see “
iSCSI storage ” on page 355).
Switches for iSCSI and FCIP
TCP/IP IPv4, Ethernet 10 Mb/s, 100 Mb/s, and 1,000 Mb/s
Requires dedicated IP bandwidth, see
Table 157 and Table 161 .
Note: You can only use optical GbE compatible connections to the FCIP or iSCSI ports.

Note: B-series MP Router ports used for Continuous Access EVA must have the
exchange-based routing feature disabled. Use the following command to disable
exchange-based routing across FCIP port processors:
portCfgFcip -m 2
FCIP portcfgfcip [-m LOAD_BAL (1-exchange, 2-SID_DID, 3-none]
The default is 1. You must set this value to 2 or 3 for Continuous Access EVA.
XP Continuous Access supports exchange-based routing, SID-DID, or none.
