Installing Windows 3.x

This section describes how to set up the operating system and drivers including the
following:

♦ 

Reformatting the hard drive.

♦ 

Installing MS-DOS.

♦ 

Installing Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups 3.11.

♦ 

Installing Windows 3.x device drivers.

To reformat the hard drive

 1. Insert the MS-DOS Setup Disk 1.

 2. Turn on the computer or press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot.

 3. Press F3 twice at the MS-DOS Welcome screen.

 4. At the MS-DOS prompt, type

 

format C:

 5. Follow the instructions as they appear.

To install MS-DOS

This section is not intended to replace your MS-DOS documentation. Please refer to
your MS-DOS documentation for specific instructions.

 1. Insert the MS-DOS Setup Disk 1.

 2. Turn on the computer or press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot.

 3. Press Enter at the MS-DOS Welcome screen.

 4. Enter the requested information or press Enter to accept the defaults.

 5. Follow the instructions as they appear.

 6. Reboot when prompted.
