To install a 3Com 3C562 EtherLink III LAN + 33.6 Modem
PC card
Requirements
♦
OmniBook 800 with OS/2 Warp 4.0 installed.
♦
3Com 3C562 EtherLink III LAN + 33.6 Modem PC card.
♦
OS/2 Warp 4.0 CD-ROM.
♦
3Com driver disk.
Configuration
♦
IO Port Address: 300.
♦
Interrupt: 3.
This procedure assumes that OS/2 Warp networking has not yet been installed.
1. Insert the PC card.
2. Connect the OmniBook CD-ROM drive and floppy drive.
3. Restart the OmniBook.
4. Open OS/2 System, then System Setup.
5. Open the Install/Remove folder.
6. Double-click on Selective Install for Networking.
7. Click on Advanced Installation, then click Next. (Advanced installation allows
you to select the networking support you wish to install.)
8. Check Desired Network Services, then click Next. (This installation assumes you
are installing the File and Print service and the TCP/IP service.)
9. Select File and Print Services and enter the Workstation name, description, and
Domain name.
10. Select User ID and password, then enter your User ID and password twice.
11. Select TCP/IP Services and check DHCP Server if appropriate or enter your
TCP/IP information.
12. Select Network Adapters and Protocol Services, then click Change Adapter.
13. Click Other Adapter.
