Internal
Disk

erform
the
follo
wing
steps
in
the
order
given
to
replace
the
in
ternal
disks
attac
hed
to
the
disk
tray
assem
bly:
1.
P
o
w
er
do
wn
all
the
w
orkstation
comp onen
ts;
disconnect
the
p o
w
er
cord
from
the
system
unit;
disconnect
the
SCSI
cables/terminator.
2.
Remo
v
e
the
disk
tray
assem
bly
from
the
rear
of
the
system
unit
cabinet
as
sho
wn
in
Figure
5-4 .
3.
Remo
v
e
the
at
ribb on
cable
and
the
p o
w
er
cable
from
the
driv
e
to
exp ose
the
holding
screw.
4.
Use
a
P
ozi-drive
screwdriver
to
remov
e
the
single
screw
that
holds
the
driv
e
in
the
disk
tray
assem
bly
.
5.
Remo
v
e
the
driv
e
and
turn
it
o
v
er.
Examine
the
SCSI
address
jump ers.
If
the
jump ers
are
set
to
SCSI
address
6
(jump ers
on
b oth
A1
and
A2 ),
y
ou
are
replacing
the
disk
that
holds
the
ro
ot
( / )
lesystem.
If
the
jump ers
are
set
to
SCSI
address
5
(jump ers
on
b oth
A0
and
A2 ),
y
ou
are
replacing
the
disk
that
holds
the
user
( /usr )
lesystem.

arning
If
the
jumpers
are
set
in
any
other
w
ay
,
the
system
is
no
longer
in
its
original
configuration.

replacing

correct
disk.
6.
Set
the
SCSI
address
jump ers
on
the
replacemen
t
driv
e
to
the
same
settings
as
those
on
the
unit
whic
h
y
ou
are
replacing.
7.
Install
the
replacemen
t
driv
e
in
to
the
empt
y
space
on
the
disk
tray
assem
bly
.
8.
Use
a
P
ozi-drive
screwdriver
to
replace
the
single
screw
that
holds
the
driv
e
in
the
disk
tray
assem
bly
.
9.
Install
the
disk
tray
assem
bly
bac
k
in
to
the
system
unit
cabinet
and
re-connect
the
SCSI
cables/terminator.
Note
One
SCSI
terminator
m
ust
alwa
ys
b e
installed
at
the
end
of
the
last
device
(internal/external).
