Finding Out What Filesets Are Av ailable
to Netw ork Update
Y ou can determine what lesets are a v ailable on the netdist serv er for
net w ork up date b y c hec king the MAIN.pkg le.
Checking the MAIN.pkg File
This MAIN.pkg le is automatically created or mo died when y ou run the
updist program; it describ es the lesets a v ailable on the serv er for net w ork
distribution. The le's con ten ts will lo ok something like this:
source "/netdist/800/ACCOUNTING/netdist.pkg";
source "/netdist/800/ALLBASE1/netdist.pkg";
Statemen ts b eginning with source iden tify whic h lesets are a v ailable for
net w ork distribution. T o prev en t a leset from b eing distributed, place a p ound
sign ( # ) at the b eginning of the statement, or remov e the statement from the
le (see the follo wing section for the complete pro cedure).
Checking Dependencies betw een Filesets
Dep endencies exist b et w een some lesets. A leset that dep ends on one or
more other lesets will ha v e a commen t directly b eneath its source statement.
F or example:

In the example ab o v e, the NS_SERV and NFS_RUN lesets dep end on the
LANLINK leset. Do not commen t out the source statement for LANLINK unless
y ou also commen t out the lines for NS_SERV and NFS_RUN .
