Late Collisions.
Provides the total number of late collisions on the port. A
late collision is a packet reporting a collision after the first 64 bytes of the
packet have been successfully transmitted. A late collision is generally
indicative of one of the packets not detecting the other at the onset of
transmission. This condition can be caused by the packet having to pass
through too many repeaters on the network or too much distance over a
10Base-5 coaxial cable. In both cases, the packet initially will detect a clear
wire, but because too much time goes by because of the delays of distance or
repeater changes, another packet has had the opportunity to enter the wire,
creating a collision.
Giant Packets.
Provides the total number of packets seen by this port that
contain oversize frames.
Broadcast Packets.
Provides the total number of broadcasts seen by this
port. A broadcast is a message sent to all users on the network.
