Frontends
The available frontends include data generator and data analyzer
frontends.
Generator Frontends
The generator frontends are:

HP E4838A, 660 MHz, differential output, low voltage amplitude/offset
and variable slopes generator
•
HP E4842A, 330 Mbit/s, NRZ/RZ, single ended, variable transitions, 3.5 V
amplitude
•
HP E4843A, 660 MHz, NRZ/RZ, differential output frontend
•
HP E4846A, 200 Mbit/s, dual output single-ended frontend
Analyzer Frontends
The analyzer frontends are:

HP E4837A, 660 MSa/s, differential input high sensitivity analyzer
•
HP E4844A, 660 MSa/s, single input frontend
•
HP E4845A, 330 MSa/s, dual input frontend
•
HP E4847A, 330 MSa/s, high-Z, dual input frontend

Trigger Pod
The HP 81200 Trigger Pod is an option of the HP E4805A Central Clock
Module. It can be used to detect external events and react on them.

The ribbon cable has to be connected to HP E4805A Clock Module.
The Trigger Pod has 8 TTL compatible input lines (input threshold 1.5 V).
The input lines are terminated by 4.7 k

pull-up resistors to +5 V.
Data acquisition is triggered by the internal sequencer clock. The
sequencer clock frequency is:
System clock frequency / blocklength granularity.
