9.1.4.1 Boom cleaning with “Air Valve”
(option)
This function blows out the technical residue
that is left in the boom lines after the cleaning
process.
This reduces deposits in nozzles and boom lines.
Blow-out process:
1. The air vessels on tractor and sprayer must
be filled.
2.
Switch off all sprayer functions; switch off
pressure agitator, internal cleaning, injector
and spraying pump.
3. Activate the main sprayer switch, only acti-
vate the outer third of the sections and the
middle section.
4. Activate the “Air Valve” function in the termi-
nal, until air (but no wash) comes out.
5. Deactivate the main sprayer switch.
The “Air-Valve” function must only be
used when driving slowly in the field,
the pressure in the brake system will
drop while this function is active.

9.1.5 End of season
¾
If possible park the crop protection sprayer in
a protected, dry place.
¾
Clean the crop protection sprayer thoroughly
from inside through the maintenance doors
and from outside.
Chaff and dirt will attract moisture, which
causes corrosion of steel parts.
If high pressure cleaning equipment is
used for cleaning, do not direct the water
jet to bearings and electric/electronic
components.
¾
Lubricate the machine by following the lubrica-
tion instructions.
¾
Grease the visible threads of setscrews and
similar.
¾
Amply grease the visible piston rods of all
hydraulic cylinders and retract these as far
as this is possible.
¾
Wet all lever joints and bearing points, which
are not subjected to lubrication, slightly with oil.
¾
Loosen the pressure gauges at the coupling
points. Take off completely and store in a frost
protected place.
¾
Put the machine into winter storage, see 9.1.6.

¾
Make a note of all repair work that needs to
be done before the next season and place the
corresponding order in due time.
Your HORSCH sales partner will be in a much
better position to execute the maintenance
service and possibly necessary repairs out-
side the season.
