Chapter 6 — Maintain the Printer

PM42 Industrial Label Printer User Manual

Adjust the Printhead Pressure

You may need to adjust the printhead pressure if you change to thicker
or thinner media, your ribbon starts to crease, or if your labels are
printing light on one side. Do not use a higher printhead pressure than
necessary. It may increase wear on the printhead and shorten its life.

Open the media cover.

Use a large straight-slot screwdriver to adjust the pressure screw:

•

To increase the pressure and create a darker print, turn the screw
clockwise.

•

To decrease the pressure and create a lighter print, turn the
screw counterclockwise.

3

Test and readjust the printhead pressure if necessary.

4

Close the media cover.
