Encoder and Device Configuration
Alarm Outputs
Connect external devices such as sirens or flashing lights to the alarm output connector to
signal users of the camera that an alarm is activated. Set the Alarm Output field as shown
in
Figure 5-1 . See Connecting Alarms on page 21 for more information.
Note You must click Apply after you make changes to any settings to save those
changes. Settings are not saved unless you click Apply .

Selecting the Camera Type
To view video, you must select the type of camera to be connected to the encoder. The
encoder can be connected to a PTZ dome or a fixed camera.
1. Select the Device Information tab.
2. In the Device Configuration area, select the camera type ( Dome or Fixed ) from the
Camera Type drop-down list.
3. In the PTZ Id field, type the PTZ dome ID if you selected Dome in step 2 .
4. Click Apply .
