Adding Oceanic
Waypoints

Oceanic waypoints are
entered in the same manner
as other waypoints with one
exception. Instead of enter-
ing a waypoint identifier, a
four digit number correspond-
ing to the waypoint latitude
and longitude, such as 3050,
is entered. Only four digits may be entered for any given waypoint.
This entry could correspond to more than one global position.

For example, if 3050 is entered, the waypoint position could be either
30° North latitude, 50° West longitude, 30° North latitude, 150° East
longitude, or 30° North latitude, 150° West longitude. In these cases
more than one Database Waypoint Page will be available (i.e. DATA-
BASE WPT 1/3). The first page displayed will be the waypoint clos-
est to the aircraft position.
