Pull the support rod out of its clip
by holding the grip and insert the
end into the hole on the front right
side of the bonnet.
All engines consume oil as part of
their normal operation, therefore,
the engine oil level must be checked
regularly, for example when
refuelling. Always check the oil
before a long journey.
The amount of oil consumed
depends on how the vehicle is driven
and the climatic and road conditions
encountered. The rate of oil
consumption can be up to 1 litre per
1,000 km/625 miles. Consumption is
likely to be higher when the engine
is new.
To close the bonnet, lift it up slightly
to remove the support rod from the
hole. Put the support rod back into
its holding clip. Lower the bonnet to
about 30 cm (a foot) above the
fender, then let it drop.
Do not press the engine cover
forcibly.
This may damage the engine cover
and component parts.
After closing the bonnet, make sure
it is securely latched.
Make sure the engine is warmed up
and parked on level ground. Turn off
the engine and wait approximately 3
minutes before checking the oil level.
