We recommend that an infant be
restrained in a rearward facing child
restraint system, until the infant is at
least one year old, reaches the
restraint system maker’s weight or
height limit, and is able to sit up
without support.

for the recommended child
restraint system.
Two types of restraints may be used:
a restraint system designed
exclusively for infants, or a
convertible restraint system used in
the rearward facing, reclining mode.
