If your car is equipped with the
security system, when you lock the
doors and the boot with the key, all
outside turn signals and both
indicators in the instrument panel
flash three times to verify the doors
and the boot are locked and the
security system has set (see page
).
You can open or close the windows
by using the key in the driver’s door
(see page
).
All doors and the boot lock or unlock
when you use the key to lock or
unlock the driver’s door.
With the boot main switch in the
OFF position, you cannot open the
boot with the boot release even if
you unlock the driver’s door with the
key, the lock tab on the driver’s door,
the master door lock switch, or the
remote transmitter. See page
for
more information.
The security system (if equipped)
activates after you lock the doors
and the boot with the lock tab on the
driver’s door or the master door lock
switch (see page
).
If you forget and leave the key in the
ignition switch, Lockout Prevention
will not allow you to lock the driver’s
door. You will see the symbol
‘‘
’’ or the symbol with an
‘‘IGNITION KEY’’ message on the
multi-information display. With the
driver’s door open and the key in the
ignition, the master door lock switch
is disabled. However, if the driver’s
door is not open, the master door
lock switch is not disabled. If you try
to lock an open driver’s door by
pushing down the lock tab, the tabs
on all doors pop out. Pushing down
the lock tab on the front passenger’s
door only locks that door.
