3.2.13 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T Interface Cable
(CAT.5E, RJ45 Connector)
The boundary with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T is the connector on GS4000.
For the connection with 1000BASE-T, use a UTP interface cable categorized as “Enhanced
Category 5”. (It is possible to use a UTP interface cable categorized as “Category 5” for the
connection only with 100BASE-TX. Also, it is possible to use a UTP interface cable categorized
“Category 3” for the connection only with 10BASE-T.)
The maximum transmission distance for the connection of GS4000 with 10BASE-T, 100BASE-
TX or 1000BASE-T is 100m.
Figure 3.2-14/3.2-15 below show the rough sketch of the cables, and Table 3.2-21 shows the
pin arrangement on NE1000-12T, NE1G-12TA,NE1G-48T,S12-1G48.
