GBIC, SFP, AND XFP
The GBIC, SFP and XFP modules are used in combinatiion with network interface boards.
Note that these modules can only be configured in specific combinations with the network
interface boards. See the table below for detailed information regarding the allowed optical
module-network interface module combinations.

1.8.1 GBIC Modules
In terms of its appearance, there are three types of Gigabit Interface Converters (Types A, B,
and C). Each GBIC module has the label to show its product name (GBIC-SX
,
GBIC-LX or
GBIC-LH).

Caution: Do not look at the inside of GBIC directly to prevent you from being
affected by laser beam.
NOTE: Use the GBIC of the standard version HITACHI recommends. Performance
cannot be guaranteed if you use the products other than the standardized ones.

NOTE: Do not install the optional components of GR4000 (or GS4000) into the
devices other than the GR4000 (or GS4000). Doing such a thing causes a fire or
an electric shock.
