REPLACEMENT OR INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL MAIN STORAGE
COMPONENTS
The same method of installing/replacing a main storage is applied for all the GS4000 models.
You must install another DIMM to expand memory, and you can install up to four 256MB
DIMMs into the BCU of GS4000.
WARNING: THE REPLACEMENT OF A DIMM SHOULD BE DONE BY A TRAINED
ENGINEER OR A QUALIFIED MAINTENANCE PERSON.
(1) Detachment of a DIMM
Step 1
Remove the basic control unit (BCU) from the device. For the detachment of the
BCU, refer to the section 5.5 Replacement or Installation of Additional Basic Control Units.
Step 2
Open the levers towards the direction (A), and remove the DIMM by pulling it
towards the direction (B).
