REPLACEMENT OR INSTALLATION OF ADDITIONAL BASIC CONTROL UNITS
The same method of installing/replacing a Basic Control Unit is applied for all the GS4000
models.
You can install or replace a Basic Control Unit without powering off the device.
When installing or replacing a basic control unit into or from the device while powered on, you
must input the required command from an operation terminal. As for the commend to be

WARNING: THE REPLACEMENT OF A BASIC CONTROL UNIT (BCU) SHOULD BE DONE BY
A TRAINED ENGINEER OR A QUALIFIED MAINTENANCE PERSON.

Caution: Do not touch the electronic components on the solder side of a Basic
Control Unit. To avoid damage, always store these components in approved
anti-static bags.

NOTE: When installing another Basic Control Unit, remove the dummy blank panel.
Store the removed dummy panel safely, so that it doesn’t get bent or lost.
(1) Detachment of a Basic Control Unit
Comply with the following procedure when removing a Basic Control Unit.
Step 1
Loosen the screws of the basic control unit.
