ATTACHMENT/DETACHMENT OF SFP

NOTE: You can attach or remove the SFP to and from the Network Interface (NIF)
even though it is installed into the device which is powered on.
Attachment of SFP
Insert the SFP into the Ethernet port until it clicks with its lever pushed up.

NOTE: The type of SFP required is determined by the type of a network interface board
being used. See the section “1.8 GBIC, SFP, XFP” for the allowed network
interface board and SFP combinations.

NOTE: The figure above shows an example of attaching SFP to the upper port of the
network interface board S12-1G48S.
When attaching SFP to the Ethernet ports of NE1G-12S, NE1G-12SA, NE1GSHP-
4S and NE1GSHP-8S, or to the POS interface ports of NP48-4S, do it by holding
SFP in the direction shown in the figure above.
However, when attaching SFP to the lower Ethernet port of S12-1G48S, do it by
holding SFP upside-down as shown in the following figure.
