NOTE: For the high port-density NIF and the high port-density PSU-integrated NIF, the NIF
number given to them by the system when they are installed are those indicated
with “

1” in the figure above.
(3) Power supply modules quantity and installation positions
The GS4000 power supply redundancy is of the type “2+2”. The GS4000 requires two active
power supply modules and two standby power supply modules. For detailed information about
installation positions of power supply modules, see the table below.

NOTE: If only one power supply module is installed, GS4000 will not become active even
after the GS4000 is powered on.
(4) LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) and Switches
The LED of a chassis indicates the action status of a fan unit, BCU, PSU
and high port-density
PSU-integrated NIF.
The LED is attached to the fan unit, and the status indicated by the LED differs depending on
the type of a device or the position where the fan unit is installed.
As for the status indicated by the each LED of a chassis, see Table 1.1-14. Refer to the section
“1.3 Power Supply,” “1.4 Basic Control Module (BCU),” or “1.6 Network Interface Module (NIF)”
for the LED and switches of other component units.
