“Use VDV-301 Protocol”
is activated ( Fig. 51/4), set a
Device ID ( Fig. 51/1) as identification.

Click the
“Save”
button ( Fig. 51/3) to save all the settings in
the device.
n
Click the
“Reset”
button ( Fig. 51/2) to go back to previous
settings.
For reasons of IT security, it is recommended to disable all network
services that are not needed.
n
Use the checkbox
“Telnet”
( Fig. 52/1) to activate/deactivate
Telnet to the device (in most cases only required for mainte-
nance). Telnet access is not encrypted and is not safe.
n
Use the checkbox
“SSH”
( Fig. 52/2) to activate/deactivate
Linux secure shell and secure sftp file access to the APS (in
most cases only required for maintenance).
n
Use the checkbox
“SNMP”
( Fig. 52/3) to activate/deactivate
the network managament data access (in most cases only
required for maintenance).

Use the checkbox
“NTP”
( Fig. 52/7) to activate/deactivate the
time server synchronization (this should be activated to set the
correct time and date automatically). Using
“NTP”
requires
specifying the
“Time Server”

Click the
“Save”
button ( Fig. 52/6) to save all the settings in
the device.
n
Click the
“Reset”
button ( Fig. 52/5) to go back to previous
settings.
6.8 Other Settings
Use the Other Settings page to set date and time manually, to
change the login passwords or set update information.
Date and time is used for time stamps in data recording and proto-
cols. The device must be powered to run the clock. After power on,
date and time is reset to UNIX zero time 1970-01-01 T00:00:00
UTC (or 31.12.1969 localtime depending to the time zone settings).

Set the time zone by choosing region and location ( Fig. 53/1)
from lists.
n
NTP ( Fig. 53/6) should be activated to set the correct time and
date automatically after reboot.
n
If no NTP time server is activated , then the time can be set
using the Push Services protocol, IBIS Protocols or set the
date ( Fig. 53/2) and time ( Fig. 53/3) manually.
n
Click the
“Save”
button ( Fig. 53/5) to save all the settings in
the device.
n
Click the
“Reset”
button ( Fig. 53/4) to go back to previous set-
tings.
