2. Serial Communication type
a. Most of the cars buil t i n 1990’s or later support serial com munication with
a scanner, and the DTC is read by bi -directional comm uni cation.
b. Multiscan sends a comm and to the control m odule to reply wi th the DTC
num bers stored in m em ory, and the control m odule repli es thereupon.
