Front Axle Oscillation Lock Circuit
The oscillation lock circuit stabilizes the undercarriage during the digging cycle when the hydraulic remote mode
is selected. Two cylinders mounted to the front axle and carrier frame, capture and hold hydraulic fluid to form a
rigid mount, preventing carrier oscillation during the dig cycle.
Whenever the machine hydraulic remote mode is selected, system air from the interface valve is directed to a pilot
valve attached to the oscillation lock valve located at the right front of the carrier frame. This air pressure shifts
the poppet in the valve locking fluid in the circuit, preventing the cylinders from moving.
When the travel pedal is engaged, pilot air from the interface valve to the oscillation lock valve is exhausted.
With no air pressure against the poppet, a minimum of 5 PSI from the return circuit unseats, the check valve,
opening all fluid ports to each other. The fluid is now free to flow from the rod side to the barrel side of each
cylinder as the front axle oscillates. The cylinders now act as shock absorbers.
Fluid to the oscillation cylinders is delivered from the return port of the steering valve, and tank Port 3 of the
center pin.
