Ethernet
communication
through the given
port has high
latency
- Check the Lost tab info for all relevant ports along the signal path. If
excessive discarded traffic is observed, try to do one of the following:
- Increase the amount of SONET bandwidth assigned to the affected
TDM pipe.
- If traffic prioritization is used, check the priority settings for the near-
end and far-end ports. Modify/re-engineer priority settings within the
affected TDM pipe.
- If Rate Limiting is used at near-end and/or far-end ports ensure it is set
as required. If necessary, modify the settings.
- The Aging Time settings for the near-end and/or far-end MAC Address
Tables may be too low/high. Check if the amount of Broadcast traffic
drops with higher/lower Aging Time settings.
NOTE: For debugging, the user should assign a unique priority for the
port being debugged and use “passed” and “lost” queue counters.
