3.0 DESCRIPTION OF THE SEEDER
Conventional planting of crops on soil prepared with the Conser-
vation tillage technique (low tillage and uncultivated land,
fallow ground).
Amongst conservative soil management methods, these techni-
ques simplify cultivation to the utmost extent and meet farm needs
in a concrete way.
Which are the advantages
?
• econimic advantages (speedier jobs, simpli
fi
ed machine
fl
eet,
more time for planting);
• agronomic bene
fi
ts (improved fertility, increased organic matter,
improved in
fi
ltration of water, greater ground bearing capacity);
• environmental bene
fi
ts (soil protection against erosion by the
stubble, less waterlogging).
How’s it done
?
Whether the ground has been prepared with simpli
fi
ed techniques
or is fallow these planting methods should be used with particular
attention to:
• reducing the degree to which the soil is compacted (especially
when the soil is heavy) by using wide tyres;
• planting when the soil is in optimum conditions (especially if it is
clayey);
• dealing with the stubble on the surface (shredding the stalks,
raising the cutting height);
• dealing with weeds (especially in row crops).
This farming implement, can only be operated by a farming tractor
equipped with lift unit and universal three-point hitch.
The seeder is suitable for use on no tilled soil.
It is suitable for sowing cereal:
wheat, barley, rye, oats, rice.
For minute and forage seeds:
rape, clover, sedge, rye-grass.
For coarse seeds:
soya, peas.
Seeds are laid down on the ground by means of ploughing devices,
planter shoe and they are distributed continuously.
The quantities to distribute are set through a seed distributor, the
motion of which derives from the crawler wheel through traction.
The arms of the furrowing tools, independent of each other, di-
spose of a wide margin of oscillation to adapt to the surface of
the ground.
ATTENTION
The seeder is suitable only for the uses indicated. The recom-
mended working speed is 8÷12 km/h. The planting unit must
only be transported by road with the tanks and hoppers empty
and at max speed of 25 km/h. Any other use different from that
described in these instructions could cause damage to the
machine and represent a serious hazard for the user.
Regular operation depends on the correct use and adequate main-
tenance of the equipment. It is advisable therefore to observe scru-
pulously what is described in order to prevent any inconveniences
that could prejudicate proper operation and duration.
It is just as important to keep to what is described in this booklet
since
the Manufacturer declines all responsibility due to ne-
gligence and non-observance of these rules.
At any rate the Manufacturer is available to assure immediate and
accurate technical assistance and all that may be necessary for the
improved operation and better performance of the equipment. The
machine user shall be liable for damage caused by noncompliance
with the instructions hereby.
