Immerse the frying basket with the food into the
oil or fat.
5
Once the food is cooked, take out the frying
basket and shake it lightly, eliminating surplus oil
or fat.
You can hang the frying basket in the suspension to
let the residual oil or fat drip off.
Notes
‒
Always first set the fat level
¿
or the oil level
À
on the left-hand control knob.
‒
At the fat-melting level, the fat is first gently
melted. Warming up takes at least 20 minutes.
‒
Depending on the set temperature, at the oil level
warming up takes between 7 and 10 minutes.
Turning off
Turn the temperature control knob to the 0 position.

WARNING
Risk of burns
Heat builds up when the appliance cover is
closed. Let appliance cool down prior to closing
the cover. Never switch on the appliance with
the cover closed. Do not use the appliance
cover to keep food warm or as a surface for
placing objects on it.
Overheating protection
In the event of overheating, the appliance
automatically turns off the heating element to protect
the appliance and cabinets. The illuminated ring
behind the control knob flashes fast. Turn off the
appliance and let it completely cool down.
The appliance can overheat if:
▯
there is too little oil or fat in the frying basin.
▯
an oil level has been set although there is fat in
the frying basin.
Safety lock
For your protection, the appliance has a safety shut-off
feature. Every heating operation is switched off after
four hours if the appliance is not operated during this
time. Even after a power outage, the heating element
stays switched off. The illuminated ring behind the
control knob flashes.
Turn the temperature control knob to 0. You can then
operate the appliance in the way to which you are
accustomed.
Cold oil zone
The water contained in the food drops down into the
so-called cold oil zone under the heating element.
This largely prevents the oil from foaming over. Also
chunks that fall through the basket during deep frying
sink into the cold oil zone. The low temperatures in
this area significantly prolong the length of time the
deep frying oil or fat can be used. The foaming
expansion rim serves to collect foam generated during
deep drying.

WARNING
Risk of burns:
Water in hot oil creates a fat explosion. Remove
slight amounts of water before warming up by
draining a small amount (about one cup) out of
the cold oil zone.
