[Example]
When specifying "Host_ABC" (8 characters) as the FC host name and specifying "10" for
"Start of Suffix"
Names such as "Host_ABC_10", "Host_ABC_11", and "Host_ABC_12" are used for FC
hosts.
•
When a new FC host name including "_" and the suffix number has more than 16 characters,
the excess number of characters starting with the last character is deleted from the entered
FC host name, and "~" and a suffix number are added, so that the name with the suffix
number has 16 characters.
[Example]
When specifying "Host_ABCDEFGHIJK" (16 characters) as the FC host name and
specifying "10" for "Start of Suffix"
N a m e s s u c h a s " H o s t _ A B C D E F G H ~ 1 0 " , " H o s t _ A B C D E F G H ~ 11 " , a n d
"Host_ABCDEFGH~12" are used for FC hosts.
•
When a FC host name including the suffix number already exists, the suffix number is
increased by one (+1). The suffix number is increased by one (+1) until no FC host names
overlap.
C.2.2
For iSCSI Hosts
■
Naming conventions for adding iSCSI hosts
The following naming conventions apply when adding iSCSI hosts:
•
A name is automatically added to a host with the "iSCSI host group name" and a suffix
number "_x" (serial numbers starting with "0").
[Example]
When specifying "HOST_Group_001" (14 characters) as the host group name
Names such as "HOST_Group_001_0" and "HOST_Group_001_1" are used for iSCSI
host groups.
•
When the host name including the suffix number "_x" has more than 16 characters, the
excess number of characters is deleted from the "iSCSI host group name", starting with the
last character and a suffix number "~x" will be added. Then, the name will contain only 16
characters.
[Example]
When specifying "HOST_Group_ABCDE" (16 characters) as the host group name
Names such as "HOST_Group_ABC~0" and "HOST_Group_ABC~1" are used for
iSCSI host groups.
•
When a host name including the suffix number already exists, the suffix number is increased
by one (+1). The suffix number is increased by one (+1) until no host names overlap.
•
The iSCSI hosts, which were selected on the [Now Connected] screen, are named, and then
the iSCSI hosts, which were specified on the [Manual Input] screen, are named next.
•
The name of the host, which was already named, will also be changed.
