Caution
•
When using VVOLs, LUN#224 to LUN#255 (or LUN numbers that are recognized on the server side)
cannot be used as Virtual Machine File System (VMFS) volumes because they are used for
management.
•
Use ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser to change the VVOL settings. Do not change any of the settings
from ETERNUS CLI, except to enable the VVOL function. The VVOL function cannot be operated from
ETERNUS Web GUI.
•
If a VVOL management information dedicated FTV fails because of errors such as a RAID group
failure, the VVOL management information dedicated FTV must be recovered by recovering the RAID
group, deleting and recreating the VVOL management information dedicated FTV using ETERNUS
CLI, and then performing a backup (or synchronizing the VVOL management information) using
ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser.
•
If the VVOL management information dedicated FTV is formatted, performing a backup (or
synchronizing the VVOL management information), and recovering the VVOL management
information dedicated FTV using ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser is required.
•
If the FTRP has already been created and the maximum Thin Provisioning Pool capacity and the
chunk size are changed, before setting VVOL using ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser, execute the "set
vvol-mode" command of ETERNUS CLI to enable the VVOL function. For details on the chunk size,
refer to
.
•
When registering multiple FTRPs in a storage container, do not mix FTRPs with different chunk sizes
in the same storage container.
