Using the User Authentication Feature
Overview
When the User Authentication feature is enabled, you can give the registered users permission to use
the features, or limit the features that unregistered users (guest users) can use. Furthermore, you
can limit the features that each registered user can use.
To use the machine, registered users need to login to their user account from the operator panel. If a
registered user uses the machine without logging in, the user will be treated as a guest user.
Restrictions can be applied on the following features:
[Customize Home and App]
[Copy]
[Email]
[Fax]
Scan ([Scan to Network]/[Scan to PC/WSD]/[Scan to USB])
[USB Direct Print]
[Show When Inserted]
[Scan from PC]
[Direct Fax]
Note
The User Authentication feature can be used when [Admin Authentication] is enabled. For details on
Admin Authentication, refer to "[Admin Authentication]" (P.136)
The features that are restricted by [User Permissions] cannot be used even if they are permitted by the
User Authentication feature.
For details on [User Permissions] settings, refer to "[User Permissions]" (P.136).
You can register up to 50 users.
