Always choose the arc length from the rod electrode tip relative to the workpiece so that
the distance arrow stays green and the rod electrode tip is always inside the target circle.
TIG tasks
The following tasks are available for the tungsten inert gas welding process:
Speed / Arc length /
Position
In addition to the welding speed and arc length, the trainee also practises guiding the rod
electrode at the correct tilt angle. If the rod electrode points upwards too much, a red di-
rection arrow (GHOST) points downwards or vice versa.
A cross indicates the optimum rod electrode tilt angle.
-
Green: very good
-
Yellow: within the tolerance
-
Red: outside the tolerance - requires correction!
Simulation with fixed
parameters
The simulation provides a representation of real welding, with visualisation of the arc and
of the formation of the weld seam. The welding parameters of amperage and voltage are
pre-set for this task. The trainee guides the rod electrode freely, without receiving any
guidance.
Torch position
The trainee practises guiding the TIG welding torch
Torch position and fill-
er rood
The trainee practises guiding the TIG welding torch and the correct addition of the filler
Simulation with fixed

set. The trainee guides the welding torch and the filler freely, without receiving any guid-
ance.
Simulation with varia-
ble parameters
The trainee sets the appropriate welding parameters for the task.
The trainee guides the welding torch freely, without being guided by a target object.
