Functional Testing of
PS-500 - Paper Test
Preparation
• The PS-500 has been removed from the Rotary Table.
• The PS-500 is placed on a level and supporting surface.
• Select the correct test pipe.
• Clean the PS-500 and testing equipment.
• The HCGS/Top-Cover is raised and secured.
Procedure
Functional Testing Procedure
1. Wrap the test pipe with brown craft paper or similar
heavyweight paper.

Do not
overlap the paper!
2. Raise the Slip Assembly of the PS-500.
3. Place the test pipe in the middle of the PS-500.
4. Set the Slip Assembly.
5. Apply a load to the test pipe. Do not exceed 10
tons.
6. Hold the applied load on the PS-500 for 30 seconds.
7. After 30 seconds, slowly release the applied load
from the test pipe.
8. Raise the Slip Assembly.
9. Remove the test pipe and evaluate the test result!
All rows of Inserts should make full contact.
