Appendix E – RF500A/AP Hidden Commands

If remote access to the RF500A/AP command line/operating system is required it is possible to enable a Secure Shell
(SSH) connection. Once the command has been run the RF500A/AP will respond as follows:
After a short period of time (within 2 minutes) the SSH icon will appear on the home page:
To access the RF500A/AP an SSH client is required, if using Linux this is already built in, however if using Windows a
downloadable client such as PuTTY.
In the interest of security disable the SSH server after use by resetting the
RF500A/AP via the Hardware page.
Connecting with PuTTY
Start PuTTY and enter the IP address of the RF500A/AP you wish to connect to and click “Open”:
