The pilot air must be applied with a pressure of 3 ... 8 bar
immediately after being switched on. Otherwise it cannot be
guaranteed that the valve will switch directly (see diagram).
If the pressure lies below 3 bar, there may be a delay before
the valve switches, in spite of an electric signal. The slow
build−up of pressure in the complete system then has no ef
fect on the actuator. The actuator would react suddenly (e.g.
a cylinder would extend or retract suddenly, depending on
the valve function).
