8.2.3 Repairing the 12 V connector box

If the e-bike is already equipped with a 12 V connector box by the OEM, contact the OEM directly in the
event of a repair and follow their instructions for installation and component replacement.
8.2.4 Retrofitting the 12 V connector box on the e-bike
If the 12 V connector box is retrofitted at a later date, the following procedure is recommended:
→
Select a suitable mounting location on the bicycle frame (head tube LOCKER / downtube / seat tube).
→
Select a suitable model variant of the 12 V connector box that has the cable length required for the instal-
lation location.

Use 3M™ Scotchlok™ wire connectors for 2 to 3 wires as the connecting element between the 12 V
connector box and the end user (e.g. lighting system).
→
When laying the connection cables, observe the corresponding bending radii of the individual cables.
If necessary, use strain-relieving fasteners.

Pay attention to the correct polarity when connecting:
• Black insulated conductor = connection GND (negative pole),
• Red insulated conductor = current-carrying conductor (positive pole)
