- Control Console
An Emergency Stop switch (11) is installed on the
control consoles. If it is necessary in an emergency
to stop the engine and most machine functions,
push down on the switch.
When the Emergency Stop switch is pushed down,
the head lights, work lights, warning beacon, and
horn will still work. The machine will also have pow-
er to raise the hood. This sends a signal to the ECM
to cut off fuel to the fuel injectors and the engine
shuts off and the fault light comes on. (Code SPN:
701 and FMI: 14)
To start the engine again, turn the ignition switch to
off, pull up on the emergency stop switch, then start
the engine normally.
NOTE: The red fault light will stay on until the en
-
gine starts.
Lockout and Tagout Procedure
The lockout and tagout procedure is designed to
prevent the unexpected or accidental startup of
equipment and to alert all workers whenever it is
unsafe to operate any piece of equipment. When
used as intended, the lockout and tagout proce-
dure also protects personnel from energy stored in
devices such as springs, accumulators, batteries,
hydraulic systems, etc.
A lockout and tagout should be performed in the
following situations:
•
Any time anyone is maintaining, repairing,
lubricating, or, for whatever reason, work-
ing on the equipment.
•
When the equipment is broken, or, for
whatever reason, unfit or unsafe to oper
-
ate.
•
While clearing blocked or jammed mecha-
nisms.
•
Whenever the equipment is left unattend-
ed.
Unexpected operation of machine components
during service or repair could cause personal injury
or death. Make it impossible for anyone to start this
machine while others work on it or in it:
Alert personnel that work is being done.

- Master Switch
Place the master switch (1) in the OFF position and
lock the switch in this position.
Attach a DO NOT OPERATE or similar warning tag
to the console to alert other personnel.
For lockout/tagout standards, see OSHA regulation
29CFR1910.147 Lockout/Tagout of Hazardous En
-
ergy. Refer to state and local regulations for addi
-
tional requirements.
