Operations Manual
CR 820 T
The engine is equipped with an engine protection
system which monitors critical engine tempera-
tures and pressures and will log diagnostic faults
when an over or under normal operation condition
occurs. If an out-of-range condition exists and en-
gine derate action is to be initiated, the operator will
be alerted by a WARNING lamp . The WARNING
lamp will blink or flash when out-of-range condi
-
tions continue to worsen. When the STOP lamp is
illuminated, the operator must pull to the side of the
work area, when it is safe to do so, to reduce the
possibility of engine damage.
Engine power and speed will be gradually reduced
depending on the level of severity of the observed
condition until the engine shuts down.
Engine Protection Shutdown
This feature automatically shuts off the engine
when the temperature, pressure, or coolant level
sensors indicate the engine is operating over or un-
der normal operating conditions. The STOP lamp
will flash for 30 seconds prior to shutdown to alert
the operator.
Engine Protection Shutdown
Override
This feature allows the operator to re-start the en-
gine after an automatic shutdown. Prior to engine
shutdown, the STOP lamp will flash for 30 seconds
to notify the operator that the engine is about to
shut down. After the shutdown, the operator can
re-start but will only be able to run for 30 more sec-
onds before another shutdown.
The control system can show and record operation
anomalies that present themselves as fault codes.
These codes will make troubleshooting easier. The
fault codes are recorded in the ECM. They can be
read using the micro controller.
Not all engine or control system anomalies are
shown as fault codes.
There are three types of system codes:
•
Engine electronic control system fault
codes
•
Engine protection system fault codes
•
Engine maintenance indicator codes (not
active at this time)
All fault codes recorded will either be ac-
tive (fault code is currently active on en-
gine) or inactive (fault code was active
at some time, but is not active at the mo-
ment).
The Icon on the screen will turn red for a ‘STOP’
fault, Yellow for a ‘WARN’ fault, and alternate be-
tween yellow and red if there are both types active
Shutting the Engine Off
•
Stop the machine
•
Turn off all functions
•
Let the engine run at idle for 5 minutes to
cool down the temperature
•
Turn off the ignition switch
WARNING:
Do not turn off master disconnect
switch for an additional 2 minutes. . If the Red
Light over the disconnect switch in the Main J-Box
is ON, wait until it turns OFF before disconnecting
the battery.
Spray Down and Cleaning
Paver Cleaning Procedure
Use only environmentally safe solvents to clean
paver.
Do not spray solvent in the presence of open flame,
sparks, welding arcs, etc. A serious fire or explo
-
sion could result.
