Inducements Impacts
There are multiple conditions that can cause the the Inducement Strategy to engage. Use the
SPN-FMI reporting in the Active Faults Screen on the operator display to help pinpoint what is
causing the problem. In general, it is best practice to address any problems as soon as a STOP
or WARN illumination is observed, rather than after Inducements kick in – this will help limit down-
time.

Final Inducement
If the operator ignores or cannot address the cause(s) of the Primary and Secondary
Inducement(s), Final Inducement will be applied. The ECM will automatically ramp down the en-
gine speed, and then lock to Idle only. Final Inducement begins with the illumination of the STOP
for 2 minutes, followed by a gradual ramp-down to idle.
