Black-out System Installation
TELESCOPING PURLINS
ATTENTION:
Telescoping purlins will NOT be installed in greenhouses that are 60' or shorter. If purchased
greenhouse is 60' or shorter, skip this step and continue on the following page.
1. Locate eight (8) swaged sections of 1/2" pipe (113300). At the swaged end, CUT the 113300 sections to 12'-5"
lengths.
2. Wrap the cut ends of the 113300 sections with 104437A felt tape as shown below.
3. With the taped ends facing away from the end wall, install one section in each of the dashed line locations below,
so that the pipe sits on the rollers of the previously installed drive rollers (page 81). Attach to the previously
installed telescoping purlin clamp (page 81) by setting the pipe into the clamp and tightening the 113310 bolt
holding the clamp in place.
NOTE:
The open end with the felt tape installed will extend 3"-4" past the drive rollers, which is ideal.
4. Once telescoping purlins are installed, slide a 13' section of 1.05" drive pipe (105S156) over the stationary
telescoping purlins, with the swaged ends facing away from the end wall. See below. End drive pipe sections will
rest loosely at this time, with the telescoping purlins sitting inside them.
