Connections for balanced and unbalanced audio outputs —
These 5-pole,
3.5 mm captive screw connectors output the selected, unamplifi ed, line
level audio. Connect audio devices, such as an audio amplifi er or powered
speakers.
See fi gure 2-4 to properly wire an output connector.
Use the supplied tie-wrap
to strap the audio cable to the extended tail of the connector.

Connect the sleeve to ground (Gnd). Connecting the sleeve to a
negative (-) terminal will damage the audio output circuits.

The length of exposed wires is critical. The ideal length is 0.3” (7 mm).
• If the stripped section of wire is longer than 0.3”, the exposed wires may
touch, causing a short circuit between them.
• If the stripped section of wire is shorter than 0.3”, wires can be easily pulled
out even if tightly fastened by the captive screws.
The volume level for each output can be individually set via the front panel or
Ethernet or RS-232 control. See chapter 3,

Remote connector —
Connect one or two host devices, such as computers,
touch panel controls, or RS-232 capable PDAs to the switcher via these
3-pole captive screw connectors for serial RS-232 (fi gure 2-5).
Use the supplied
