Revision 0.2
IN 1,2:
BNC connectors used to input 3G/HD/SD SDI with embedded audio to the UEP.
UEP has selection for which input to use.
IN 1 and IN 2 have the same functionality on RPv1 and RPv2.
LOOP OUT 1,2:
BNC connector used to Passive Bypass 3G/HD/SD SDI when UEP is unpowered.
OUTPUT 1:
Contribution encoder ASI output.
OUTPUT 2:
Contribution encoder ASI output or correctly selected 3G/HD/SD SDI input bypass.
OUT 1 on RPv1 has the same functionality as OUT 2 on RPv2.
OUTPUT 3:
Contribution encoder ASI output.
OUTPUT 4:
Contribution encoder ASI output or correctly selected 3G/HD/SD SDI input bypass.
OUT 2 on RPv1 has the same functionality as OUT 4 on RPv2.
DATA 1,2:
There are two SFP cages for streaming output. RJ-45 SFPs can be provided for
Ethernet connection. Contribution and IPTV encoder can be output from both ports.
CONTROL:
This RJ-45 Ethernet port is reserved for future control of the UEP. Currently as of
Dec 2014 the EMX FC is to be used as a switch for controlling all UEPs in a given
frame (EMX1, EMX3 and EMX6 frames)
.
Reserved I/O:
In RP v1 there was 4x BNC’s and 2x SFP cages on the left/bottom side. These were
reserved for debugging and future use. With the new I/O available on RP v2 this
section was changed to blank.
AES/GPIO:
The high-density DB-15 connector and cable can bring various signals conveniently
to BNC connectors. As of December 2014 the AES connections are reserved for
future use. Table 2-1 shows the respective DB-15 connector pin outs.
