Enduser MAC Contained in DHCP Option

The feature

is only available if the

switching

rule

is set to

virtual MAC

.

The support is added in one of the options 128..254 in DHCP negotiation, for
sending the real MAC to the DHCP server in the EFN.

One of the DHCP option 128..254 will be set on a switching domain, in other
words, at switching domain level. If it is set at switching domain level all

connections in this domain would have this feature. If the option is set to yes,
then all connections in this domain would send the real MAC in DHCP

negotiation to DHCP server. If it is set to no, then in all DHCP negotiations the
real MAC would not be sent. Using this approach, it is not possible for an End

user in a switching domain to send the real MAC address to a DHCP server.

The advantage of this approach is that all connections in a switching domain

send the real MAC to the DHCP server with a single command. If more than
one user wants to send this information to the DHCP server, then this

approach is ideal.
