ATTRIBS submenu
The ATTRIBS submenu has the following options:
Note: The LATCHED option also affects all status messages that apply to alarms, including the
TX FAIL message. This means you must press RES to clear the status message if
LATCHED is set to YES.
Note: If you set STD MAP to LOGIC, you can set the failsafe state for relays 2–6 individually.
See “Logical alarm mapping (STD MAP = LOGIC)” on page 30 and “Setting the failsafe
option for individual channels” on page 39.
Failsafe operation
Failsafe operation means that when in alarm, the relay contacts are in their “normal,” de-
energized, or “shelf-state” positions. In other words, normally closed relays are closed in
alarm, and normally open relays are open in alarm. With failsafe operation, a power failure
equals an alarm. The following are true of a relay in failsafe condition:
z
The relay is energized when power is applied to the unit.
z
The relay in a non-alarmed condition contains power.
z
In alarmed condition, power is removed from the relay coil, causing the relay to change
state.

FAILSAFE Choose failsafe or nonfailsafe operation for the alarm relays for
STD MAP=YES or STD MAP=NO. Failsafe operation is explained below
this table. You can choose failsafe for both alarm level relays (A D), only
one alarm level relay (- D or A -), or no alarm relays (NO). Note that the
System OK relay is always in a failsafe condition.
Note: This option does not appear if you set STD MAP=LOGIC.
LATCHED
Choose whether the monitor stays in the alarm state even when the signal
condition that caused the alarm has ended (NO, YES). YES means the
operator must press the RES button on the monitor to acknowledge the
alarm and reset the relays. NO means the monitor resets the relay once the
alarm condition has passed.
RISING
Displays the RISING submenu, where for each channel you can choose to
activate an alarm on a signal level rising or falling through the alarm
setpoint (NO, YES).
z
YES - The alarm is activated on a signal level rising through the alarm
setpoint.
z
NO - The alarm is activated on a signal level falling through the alarm
setpoint.
EXIT
Return to the RELAYS submenu. The monitor remembers the current
values for menu options, but does not write them to memory until you exit
the Factory menu.
