Configuring iSNS for iSCSI Target Discovery
An Internet Storage Name Server (iSNS) maintains a database of storage network elements that can be
queried by other clients within the SAN. iSCSI storage devices in particular can register targets with the
iSNS for efficient discovery by iSCSI clients.
Use the iSCSI SNS tab to configure the iSNS server or to discover the server using DHCP.

To add a server:
1.
Click Update iSNS Server. The Update iSNS Server dialog box appears.
2.
Enter the server address and port and click OK.
The new iSNS server is also queried for iSCSI targets and any discovered targets are added to
the Target's table on the main Target Discovery tab.
To remove a server:
1.
Click Clear iSNS. The iSNS server is removed and no longer queried during a target refresh.
To discover servers using DHCP:
1.
Click Discover thru DHCP. If an iSNS server can be discovered through a DCHP server, it is
configured and queried for targets.
