2.4 Installation - Gas Conditioning
2.4 Gas Conditioning
In order to ensure trouble-free operation, spe
-
cial attention must be paid to the preparation
of the gases:
All gases must be conditioned
before supplying to the analyzer,
to be
• dry,
• free of dust and
• free of any aggressive com-
ponents which may damage
the gas lines (e.g. by corro-
sion or solvents).
Pressure and gas flow must remain within the
values given in the
moisture cannot be avoided, it is necessary
to ensure that the dew point of the gases
is at least 10 °C (18 °F) below the ambient
temperature to avoid condensate in the gas
lines.
Hints for selected gases
• Calibration gases for CO and NO
need
to be moistured by supplying them via a
cooler.
EXPLOSION HAZARD
Do not supply gases harmful to explosion protection safety components
like flame arrestors, cable glands or analyzer enclosure!
Violation may result in explosion!
