Before the UPDATE OUTPUTS function can be used, the output function "PRGRAMMABLE
OUTPUTS (12)" must be assigned to the output lines. Once the outputs have been assigned, the
UPDATE OUTPUTS will be valid. The data field for programmable outputs displays only the
assigned output lines and is organized as shown below.

Each "X" would be a "1" or a "0", depending on how the outputs are set up.
1 = ON and 0 = OFF.
Like the UPDATE OUTPUTS function, the WAIT FOR INPUT function must have the input
function EXTERNAL INPUT (28) assigned to an input line before WAIT FOR INPUT can be
used as a program step.
Also, it should be noted that an index that is used in a compound index cannot be used again. If
the user must use an identical index, it must be set up and stored under a new index number.
