4.3.2 Function
Keys
The 4 function keys are used to control the operation of the system.
Run
Starts the test cycle or restarts it if the test can been paused.
Pause
Stops the automatic pace control, and holds the load at the current level.
Stop
Stops the test.
Reset
Resets the ADR-Auto so that a new test cycle can be initiated.
4.3.3 Keypad
The keypad is used for numeric and alphanumeric data entry and to access other
functions such as viewing stored data or accessing other menus.
The ‘ESC’ key cancels the current screen and displays the previous screen.
The Enter key, marked

is used to accept an entry.
Other keys will be explained in the text.
Caution: do not use excessive force when pressing the keys on the control
panel. Do not use tools e.g. a pen or pencil on the keys as this can damage the
control panel.
4.3.4 LCD
Contrast
The LCD Contrast can be adjusted, within allowable limits, from the initial screen
using the UP/DOWN arrow keys. The UP arrow key will decrease the contrast (make
the screen lighter) and the DOWN arrow key will increase the contrast (make the
screen darker).
The system will automatically save the new contrast setting in non-volatile memory.
4.4 Electrical

Safety
Whilst the test is in operation do not remove any covers or attempt to adjust any part
of the machine.
Ensure all moving parts are thoroughly secured before attempting any maintenance.
Ensure all appropriate measures are taken to protect the operator from excessive
noise.

Electrical Safety
Warning:
Before removing any covers or performing maintenance repair and service,
isolate from electrical supply by removing mains plug. Where mains supply is
required during these activities, only competent persons should perform the work.
Check that the power supply is compatible with the requirements stated on the label
and connect in accordance with IEE regulations or to local requirements.
UK Connections
This machine may be operated through a standard 13 amp socket outlet when fitted
with an appropriate 3 pin plug fused in accordance with the label.
