4.6

Configuring the ADR-Auto’s Operating Modes

Before running a test, check that the current operating mode is the required one, and
that the mode has been configured correctly. The operating mode is selected and
configured by pressing the

Menu

key, then

Setup Mode

. Note that the

Installation

and Setup

mode can only be accessed when the

Initial Screen

display is active.

The screen display will be of the form –

Use the

Up

and

Down Arrow

keys to move the cursor to the option required, and

then press the

Enter

key. To return to the

Initial Screen

press the

Escape

key.

4.6.1 Selecting the Operating Mode

When two frames are attached, the ADR-Auto 1500, 2000, 2225 & 3000 is fitted with
a solenoid operated changeover valve inside the console, which is used to connect
the hydraulic power pack to the required frame. If only one frame is attached, this
valve is not fitted.

Note: If the Compression Frame has a front gate with safety interlock, this must
be closed before the solenoid operated changeover valve will operate.

The ADR-Auto 250/25 has a manual frame changeover valve fitted externally (Refer
to figure 1)

To change from one frame to the other, move the flashing cursor to the

Change

Mode

option and press

Enter

. The screen display will be of the form -

Do not attempt to operate the changeover valve until the ram on the currently
selected frame has returned to its initial position. To operate the changeover valve if
the ram is at its initial position, use the

Left

or

Right Arrow

key to select

Yes

and

press the

Enter

key. To exit from this screen without operating the valve either select

No

using the

Left

or

Right Arrow

key and press the

Enter

key, or press the

Escape

key. If a manual changeover valve is fitted, it must be operated manually.

Note that the options set under the

Select Sample

and

Setup Mode

menus apply to

the currently selected operating mode.

Change to the required mode before

setting the options.

4.6.2 Defining the Operating Mode Options

There are several options which affect the operation of the ADR-Auto. To set these,
use the

Up

and

Down Arrow

keys to select the

Setup Mode

option and press

Enter

.
